A river, a chainsaw and a cat.
This morning I had the pleasure of chatting with my first residents, Karina Kraenzle and Barbara Cuerden. We decided we would hang out on the beach, take a few photos and just have a casual conversation about their work, life in the arts, and, unintentionally, have a few laughs about the unexpected noise that day since one of our neighbours decided to have some trees cut and of course, put through the wood chipper.
With only a few days left to their residency we decided that Friday night was a good time to have supper together and sit around a fire outside under the stars. With a big pot of chilli cooking all day and an apple crisp in the oven, it seems fitting to celebrate this new venture and the very first artists that came to the Pontiac region and gave it a go. I'd like to thank Karina and Barbara for that, but also for their openness and honesty. Here are a few pictures of the artists at work, documenting some elements and surroundings of the Outaouais River... and a new friend.
